Dana Cogan
Dana Cogan is a change consultant, facilitator and executive coach with nearly 20 years of experience supporting international organizations. He has facilitated countless working sessions, teambuilding events and training programs and coached numerous executives through organizational changes.
Dana has led and/or collaborated on organization improvement and change projects such as:
- Post-merger alignment of strategy, culture and processes
- Mapping of vision, strategy, role and processes for cross-functional transparency
- Initiatives to strengthen leadership and collaboration at all levels of organizations
- Employee-driven initiatives to improve productivity, work environment and retention
- Sales force best practice collection and sharing via workshop and online interface
- Simulations to improve business and managerial acumen of auto dealership managers
Programs Dana has designed and/or facilitated include: Fundamentals of Management, Managing Diverse Teams, Managing Across Cultures, Influencing, Interpersonal Communication, Problem-Solving, Negotiating, Preventing Discriminatory Harassment, Work Environment Improvement and Sustainable Excellence in Work and Life.
Dana has taught MBA courses on leadership, culture and communication and facilitated sessions for the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, Organizational Development Network, the American Society for Training and Development and Japan Management Center. He contributes articles on productivity to HR Club, a Human Resource Development web community in Tokyo.
Dana holds an MA in Asian Studies with a research focus on Japanese leadership from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a Certificate in International Management from the Pacific Asian Management Institute and a BA in Philosophy from Pomona College. He is certified fluent in Japanese. He is certified in DiSC and comfortable using numerous other communication, personality and performance assessment tools.
